Allyn Bank Equipment Company was founded in 1959 by Allan E. Finke. He began his career in manufacturing by creating the Electronic Coin Changer and started calling on financial institutions with his invention. He later sold his patent to a major coin handling manufacturer and established Allyn Bank Equipment Co. Through his personal contact with bank clients, he developed an understanding of what banks need to modernize their lobby appearance. This lead to the design and development of Date-Write® products for customer service counters that are being used throughout the world.
